Ghost VPN — frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. Ghost VPN sets itself up automatically using Apple's App Attest. There is no sign-up, login or invitation code.
Which iPhones are supported?
Any iPhone running iOS 17 or later. App Attest requires a physical device; the VPN does not run in the iOS Simulator.
The app says “Connecting” for a long time.
The app only shows “Connected” after the server confirms a handshake. Check that you have internet access, then disconnect and reconnect. If the problem continues, remove the VPN profile from Settings → General → VPN & Device Management and open the app again to re-enrol.
Websites show my location as somewhere unexpected.
Geolocation databases sometimes map our server addresses to a different city. This affects how sites label your location, not where your traffic exits.
How do I remove Ghost VPN completely?
Use “Remove profile” inside the app, then delete the app. Your device's enrolment expires automatically and the key pair is deleted from the Keychain.
What data does Ghost VPN collect?
Only what is required to run the service: a device public key, a server identifier and aggregate server-health metrics. There are no accounts, no advertising SDKs and no browsing logs. See the privacy policy.
